In the late 50s/early 60s U. S. Folk Revival THE LIMELITERS ran second in popularity only to The Kingston Trio. A trio of experienced Folkies, comprising Glenn Yarbrough, Alex Hassilev and Lou Gottlieb, their first six LPs all made the U. S. album charts. Their first four LPs are included on an earlier Jasmine compilation, Music With Style From The Limeliters (JASCD?735). Yarbrough had also cut three earlier solo LPs, which can be found on The Early Solo?Collection (JASCD888). This set features the Limeliters' fifth and sixth albums, Through Children's Eyes and Folk Matinee, plus a couple of non-album singles, including their only Top 100 45rpm, 'A Dollar Down'. The booklet features the original liner notes to both LPs, plus extensive further biographical information. These sides are impossible to find elsewhere in the digital format, making this an essential release for fans and collectors alike.
